Locks, diets, soda or water? Decisions, decisions!

I was sitting here thinking about my title for my blog. I don't know bout ya'll but I can remember my mother calling my head "them kitchens" more times than not. I thought that title of my blog was so appropo lol.
Interestingly I love to cook and love to collect the little bistro chefs anything from statues to rugs to towels and placemats I have it and still constantly looking for more things to add to it. (I figure in about 30 years my kitchen will be just like any other big mama I know, full of her nicnacs and stuff she has collected over the years)
On a serious note however I was looking at FOX news a few weeks ago and found out that our FDA has recently approved cloning of animals for human consumption!
Some farms in Texas have already been cloning animals but were just waiting for the go ahead from the government before putting the animals on the market. Now get this. These farms and the meat packing companies will not be required to tell you which meat was made naturally or which was cloned product. They also stated that the cloning of the animals was to actually make a more superiour meat and then allow them to mate!
Then about two weeks later a genetically altered calf was shown on the news that had two heads. Not a parasitic head either but one that was eating and mooing (both heads mind you!) Now if that wasn't an indication that we need to maybe rethink the whole idea about cloning I don't know what is.
All of this information gave me cause for concern for several reasons on a personal level for me and my family.
1. We are all trying to go natural with the hair. I have the braidlocks. My two eldest have braids that I keep up for them or they trade off and help each other the youngest one has a natural hair.
2. We try to exercise in this house and drink plenty of water. Home gym style you know how we do.
We call ourselves eating right by eating only chicken and fish and occasionally beef or pork and thats only when my DH is home from the ships do we eat that.
With this new information that says it will be cloning beef (milk) and pork, I have had to rethink our diets.
What is surprising is how quickly my teens told ME ...MOM they were going to our vegetarian lifestyle without me telling them that was going to be the new rule.
Well we are still eating chicken and fish for now. And experimenting with new meals. Mainly mediterranean fare.
Bottom line is this. If I care this much about my hair and what I put on it or not then I need to do the same with my internal self.
So lets see how we do.
I'll keep you posted.

Peace
Till next time.

Y've
